Supervisor: Pastor and Youth Deacon
Purpose:
To provide leadership and coordination of Youth ministry (grades 6-12), including fellowship gatherings and leading Youth into a deepening walk with Jesus Christ.
Requirements:
The youth intern must be a person:
- Who has a mature and growing faith in God and is willing to enthusiastically share that faith with youth (grades 6-12)
- Who enjoys working with youth and has the ability to relate to them
- Who is dedicated, imaginative and has experience in the youth ministry
- Who possesses teaching abilities and skills
- Who understands the Asian-American culture
- With a college degree, or equivalent experience.
- Who understands and ministers with a team approach.
Responsibilities:
The youth intern will be responsible for:
- Work with Youth Deacon to organize and coordinate weekly Sunday Youth Worship Service
- Meeting with youth on a small group and/or one-on-one basis
- Lead Bible studies at Sunday school
- Helping to plan special events including retreats, and overnight programs.
- Meet with Youth Deacon and/or Pastor regularly for updates, planning and prayer.
- Maintaining good communication with youth’s parents
- Providing spiritual leadership and role model for youths
